Ryan O'Neal, Alana Stewart and her hairdresser, Mela, were at Farrah Fawcett's bedside at St. John's Medical Center in Santa Monica as she took her last breath.
But two of the most important men in Farrah's life were sadly missing. Her son, Redmond, and her elderly father, James, were unable to make it to her in time. "I am really worried about what's going to happen to Redmond now," a family friend says about Farrah's son, who has been in a court-ordered drug program since April.
"He is going to go through a severe depression once this sinks in, and then he is stuck there and no one is likely to go see him. It's pretty awful," adds the friend.
Flowers sent by Farrah's friends — including William Shatner, Candy Spelling and her Charlie's Angels co-stars — surrounded the beloved star.
"Everyone is distraught," admits the insider.
What will happen to Michael Jacksons children?
The death of Michael Jackson is likely to spark a massive legal battle over how much of his fortune - what is left of it - goes to his three children.
The singer was pronounced dead aged 50 at a hospital in Los Angeles last night. He was taken there in a coma following his collapse at home.
Jackson is survived by Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, known as Blanket.
It is not yet known who will take care of them, but a source close to his family said his ex-wife Debbie Rowe is expected to receive initial custody while long term arrangements are sorted. Nor is it clear what their financial situation will be. Although Jackson ranked alongside the Beatles and Elvis Presley in terms of his earnings, in recent years he had amassed massive debts of an estimated $60million.He had planned a series of comeback concerts at London's 02, which would have cleared his debts.Prince Michael and Paris were the product of Jackson's second marriage to Rowe, nurse, in 1996. After the couple divorced in 1999, Jackson took on sole responsibility for their children's upbringing

Billy Bobs daughter Charged with murder
The estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton has been charged with murder over the death of a one-year-old girl that she was babysitting.
Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County jail in Flordia last night.
She faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child.
Court records show she told investigators the infant, who died in her care in October, acted normally and ate bananas after she fell from a playpen and hit her head.
But detectives believe Brumfield's story is inconsistent with the girl's injuries.
Brumfield, Billy Bob's eldest daughter by first wife Melissa Parish, was charged with child neglect earlier this month before being booked for murder yesterday.
An autopsy revealed the child suffered a fractured skull and a brain injury due to blunt trauma - a type of physical injury to the head.
Brumfield said she noticed the baby's tongue was bleeding after the fall and cleaned it with a paper towel.
She claimed she then played with the child, who seemed 'happy', and fed her bananas and fruit snacks.
Brumfield told police she laid the child next to her on the couch and fell asleep, celebrity website TMZ reported earlier this month.
She says she was woken up by a phone call and went to take the child back to the playpen, only to find her body was limp when she lifted her.
Police say Brumfield's call for help did not come until two-and-a-half hours after the original fall.
'It might have been an accident, but she had an obligation to get that child care,' said a police spokesman. 'For two and a half hours she did not care for that child.'
Billy Bob Thornton's publicist told CNN news that Thornton is estranged from Amanda and has had no contact with her for quite some time
Arnold Robinson told CNN in a written statement: 'When informed about this situation, he [Billy Bob] commented that, "'Anytime a baby's life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby's family and loved ones'".
The actor's first wife, Melissa Parish said her daughter, an unemployed bank loan officer, was close friends with the baby's mother and couldn't have harmed the little girl named Olivia.
'It's a tragic situation, she loved that little so much and it [her death] just crushed her, just devastated her," Parish told The New York Post recently.
'She was Olivia's godmother and the mother's best friend. It's just a horrible situation and it's being made worse and exploding even more just because of who my ex-husband is.'
